A solo presentation of works by internationally acclaimed Australian visual artist Brook Andrew whose interdisciplinary artistic practice draws upon new and historical forms, images and texts that conflate archival sources, cultural markers, ethnographic records, found objects and ephemera from different time periods that conjure alternative timelines. Entitled “Denkmal”, translated from German as meaning “memorial” or “monument”, the exhibition responded directly to the artist’s ambitious Federal Government Australian Research Council grant research project titled “Representation, Remembrance and the Memorial” that investigates the lack of indigenous memorials within Australia that respond to Aboriginal loss and the frontier wars.

For this solo presentation in Germany, Yore brought together quilted textiles, a suite of four needlepoint pieces and a spectacular suspended soft sculpture. Across the various fabric surfaces Yore’s cacophony of loaded visuals, emblems and texts embedded within the compositions speak directly to national discourse and and identity with the inclusion of the map of Australia.

Solo presentation of sculptural works in Australia by internationally acclaimed Danish, Berlin-based artist Jeppe Hein within The Artbarn Art Space, showcasing a selection of pieces from the artist’s key artwork series’ that include Hein’s coloured Mirrored Balloons and appellative neon texts glowing behind two-way mirrors. This survey of works continued outside in the natural environment with a curation of large-scale outdoor sculptures from the artist's Modified Social Benches pieces staged throughout the property in Cape Schanck, Australia.
